André Derain (1880-1954) - French painter, graphic artist, sculptor, ceramist and theatrical decorator (in 1919 S.P.Dyagilev hired Derain to work in the theater, where the artist created sketches of scenery and costumes for the ballet "Magic Shop" choreography by L.F. Massine).
The sketch was presented at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris as part of the exhibition "Derain, Balthus, Giacometti, une amitia artistique" (2017), dedicated to the friendship of three major artists of the 20th century: André Derain (1880-1954), Balthus (Balthus, 1908-2001) and Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966).
