Mikhail Nikolaevich Shilkin (1900–1962) was a renowned Finnish ceramic artist and sculptor of Russian descent, a classic of Finnish design. He worked for over 25 years in the Arabia factory's art studio, creating expressive animal figurines and large-scale reliefs for building facades. For his unique works in fireclay and glaze, the master was awarded a gold medal at the 1937 Paris World's Fair and Finland's highest award, the Pro Finlandia medal (1958). Signature SCHILKIN 57.
