Silver cake pie server (spatula).
Russian Empire (Russia), St. Petersburg, year 1895, workshop of V. Morozov -
Supplier to the Court of His Imperial Majesty of the Russian Empire.
Height: 28.8 cm.
Weight: 180 grams of silver 84 fineness in zolotniki ( = 875 metrical fineness).
"V. M under a two-headed eagle" - the mark with abbreviated name of workshop owner and
Imperial Warrant mark, certifying the title Supplier the Russian Imperial Court.
The Russian hallmarks until 1899б, where:
"АС" - the initials of the assay master Alexander Sevier (worked since 1892 to 1895);
"1895" - year of assay;
"84" – the fineness mark (84 zolotniks = 875);
"two anchors, laid crosswise and scepter" - the Petersburg city mark.
Later, the product was re-tested the double Latvia hallmark, 1922-1927 -
"woman's head in profile facing up with the number 875" in a barrel frame-shape, where:
"woman's head in profile facing up" - a Latvian identification mark confirming that the product is
made of silver not less, than minimal standard of country;
"875" - the fineness mark.
The number "84" and "the the women’s head" in a circle frame-shape - an auxiliary mark, certifying that the details of this item are
made of the declared silver fineness.
